How Do I Add White Underlay to My Transparent Stickers?

Add white underlay to your transparent stickers for vibrant, solid colors that stand out on any surface. Learn how to do it here!

Updated over a week ago

Adding a white underlay to your transparent stickers is simple and helps ensure your designs look their best. Whether you’re a design pro or new to the process, we’ve got you covered.

When you upload your file and select the white underlay option, we will automatically add white ink to all the areas where there is color. This enhances your colors, making them vibrant and solid, rather than blending into the background of whatever surface your stickers are applied to.

If you prefer more control over where the white ink is applied, you’ll need an experienced designer to handle this part. In our example, this is done using Adobe Illustrator. Here’s how:

  1. Create a Layer for White Ink: In your design file, create a new layer specifically for the white underlay.

  2. Mark the White Areas: On this layer, indicate all the elements you want to be printed in white by using a light grey color. This color won’t be printed but will guide us in applying the white ink correctly.

  3. Label the Layer: Clearly label this layer as "White Ink" or "White Underlay" so we know exactly how to apply it.

Below is a sample that shows how we’ve created a layer and added all the elements we wanted to be printed in white using a light grey color.

Whatever method works best for you, we’re here to help. Whether you choose the automatic white underlay option or prefer to guide us through your design file, we’ll ensure your transparent stickers turn out exactly as you envisioned.
