Die cutting

Die cutting is the process used to create a wide variety of custom card shapes.

The process requires a “die” – a piece of wood with the shape cut into it and steel blades bent into shape and embedded in the wood (in crude terms, a cookie cutter for paper and card).

The die is placed in a die cutting machine, which the sheets are fed into. The machine presses the die into the paper, cutting it into the desired shape.
