Use the following tables to calculate the size (in inches) of bleed and safety margin required for your design.
|W × H|
|Order size||×||Write in the size of your order (trim size). A business card would be 3.5 × 2.
|Bleed area||×||+0.25||add 0.25 to the width and write it in the column, then do the same for height.|
|Safety margin||×||-0.5||subtract 0.5 from the width (bleed area) and write it in the column, then do the same for height.|
|Order size||Write in the diameter size of your order.
|Bleed area||+0.25||add 0.25 to and write it in the column.|
|Safety margin||-0.5||subtract 0.5 from the width (bleed area) and write it in.
|Bleed area||The bleed area will be 0.125 inches outside the shape (or a 9pt stroke applied to the outside of the shape).|
|Safety margin||The safety zone will be 0.25 inches inside the shape, we recommend keeping all important information as far away from the edges as possible.|
You have now calculated the bleed, and safety margin sizes for your order. Use these to set up guides for your design.
