Exporting a Print-Ready PDF File from Illustrator or InDesign

When exporting your design files, it is important to ensure your file is print-ready. Be sure to double check that all content is within the appropriate safety margin and when necessary, your artwork has bleed added. Prior to exporting, make sure you have also checked spelling and image quality. Jukebox is not responsible for any customer errors, including spelling mistakes.

Before exporting files:

  • Remove any objects from the artboard that are not intended to be printed; including any extra layers, swatches, links or extra objects

  • Artwork should be in CMYK color mode

  • Images should be at least 300ppi

  • Delete any templates you used 

Exporting a Print-Ready file

  1. Illustrator - Select File > Save A Copy
    InDesign - Select File > Export

  2. Set the Format to “Adobe PDF”, name the file and select “Save”.

  3. You will be prompted with a dialogue box of settings. Choose “[Press Quality]” preset. Under “Marks and Bleeds”, specify the following settings:



  4. Click Export.

Ensure your PDF is exported to include the bleed area you defined earlier in the file setup.
