The removal of your floor decal should be done with the same attention and care as the application process. If you forcefully and quickly pull off the floor decal, you may also tear off the treatment (if any) that is on the application surface. For helpful tips and best results, follow our recommended removal method below.
1. Apply heat
Start with the use of heat as this will help release the adhesive from the decal. Heat one edge of the decal for about 30-60 seconds using a heat gun, propane torch, weed burner or other source of concentrated heat, and place it approximately 6-12" away from the decal.
2. Gently lift the heated edge
Gently lift the heated edge using a putty knife and slowly pull toward you at a 45° angle or less.
3. Alternate applying heat and pulling
Work your way slowly through the decal. Alternate applying heat (30-60 seconds each time) and pulling slowly at less than 45° angle.
4. Clean any remaining residue with soap and water
If any adhesive residue is present after the decal has been removed, wash the application surface with soap and water.
