Spot Gloss stickers are a popular choice for brands and designers looking to create standout stickers with a sleek, premium finish. The gloss adds a subtle raised texture that catches the light, creating a striking contrast against the matte surface beneath.
Here’s everything you need to know before ordering:
What makes Spot Gloss special?
Spot Gloss is a clear, glossy layer applied to specific areas of your design. It creates a slightly raised, shiny effect that you can both see and feel. This adds depth, contrast, and a refined look to your stickers.
Stock
Our Spot Gloss stickers are printed on Standard Matte vinyl stock. The matte surface enhances the gloss areas, making the effect even more noticeable. It’s the perfect combination of subtle and bold.
Minimum Quantity
You can order as few as 10 stickers, making it accessible for small projects, events, or brand testing.
Durability
These stickers are strong and built to last. Suitable for both indoor and outdoor use, Spot Gloss stickers are also dishwasher safe, making them perfect for laptops, water bottles, product packaging, and more.
Shapes and Cuts
Spot Gloss can be added to any shape—custom, circle, square, or rectangle.
• Available in Kiss Cut or Die Cut options
• Can also be ordered as Sticker Sheets (requires a custom quote)
How to set up your design file
To apply Spot Gloss to specific parts of your design, you’ll need to create a Spot Gloss Layer in your artwork file:
• Use Adobe Illustrator or a similar design program
• Create a new layer labeled Spot Gloss
• Fill the areas you want glossy with solid black (100% K)
• The black areas will indicate where the gloss effect will be applied
Design tips
Spot Gloss works best on bold, solid elements. Small or thin text is not recommended. For best results, keep text and design elements in gloss over 40pt in size, with thicker strokes. This ensures the raised gloss effect prints cleanly and clearly.
If you're not sure how to set this up, don’t worry. You can leave a note with your order, and our prepress team can assist with creating the correct file—especially if the placement is straightforward.
💡 Tip
If you're looking for a cost-effective way to get a similar elevated look as embossing, Spot Gloss is a great alternative. It’s visually striking, tactile, and budget-friendly.
