Everything to Know About Our Black Paper Stocks

Updated this week

We offer three black premium stocks, each with a unique surface, thickness, and best use. Whether you're creating business cards, specialty tags, or high-end packaging, each stock serves a different purpose.

1. 16pt Classic Crest Epic Black

Previously called: 16pt Jet Black

Made from Neenah’s Classic Crest Epic Black, this stock has a smooth, uncoated surface and a deep black finish. It is the best option for embossing. The lighter weight and surface softness allow for sharper detail and clean results. Also recommended for foil stamping and duplex projects.

Finish: Uncoated
Writable: No
Best for: Business cards, embossing, foil stamping, duplex
Thickness: 16pt

2. 24pt Smooth Touché Black

Previously called: 24pt Suede

Touché Black is a soft-touch matte stock with a thick, high-end feel. Manufactured by Neenah, it has a velvet-like surface suitable for foil stamping. It is not recommended for ink printing or detailed embossing due to its thickness.

Finish: Soft-touch matte
Writable: No
Best for: Premium business cards, specialty packaging

3. 30pt Sirio Ultra Black

Previously called: 30pt Onyx

Sirio Ultra Black is our thickest and darkest stock. Made by Fedrigoni, it features a deep, rich tone and smooth uncoated surface. The solid-core construction is ideal for foil stamping and blind debossing. Due to its thickness, this stock is not suited for detailed embossing.
