How to create a greyscale image in Photoshop
Updated over a week ago

Creating a Grey (black and white) image in Photoshop is a relatively simple process.

  1. Open the image in Photoshop

  2. From the top menu select "Image > Mode > Greyscale"
    Confirm the prompts and proceed

  3. You might want to adjust the image slightly after the conversion. We suggest doing so with Levels. Select "Image > Adjustments > Levels". Adjust the sliders to improve the contrast and visibility of details.

When you have finished adjusting your image, make sure you save the image.

Your image is now converted to Greyscale. You may need to import it into your design or re-link the file if you are designing in another application.
