Setting up press-ready files for Embossing

Updated over a week ago

To ensure your embossed design prints perfectly, please follow these guidelines:

Use Adobe Illustrator
We recommend using Adobe Illustrator to take full advantage of its vector tools, ensuring your design remains crisp and precise.

Vector Artwork & Solid Black
Create your embossed elements as vector artwork and fill them with 100% solid black. This guarantees a clean, consistent look in the final product.

Dedicated Embossing Layer
Place all elements intended for embossing on their own layer. Label this layer “Embossing” to clearly separate it from the rest of your design.

Export as a Press‑Ready PDF
Once your design is finalized, export your file as a press‑ready PDF to maintain quality and accuracy during printing.

In Adobe Illustrator, your embossed artwork should appear as a rich, pure 100% black vector design. This precise, solid black is essential for a clean and accurate emboss die.

This is the final embossed look on our premium letterhead stock, showcasing the raised effect and fine detail of your design.
