What file formats should I use?

Updated this week

The best file types to submit are:

  • PDF (print-ready) – keeps everything clean and consistent

  • EPS – best when exported from Illustrator or InDesign

When preparing your file:

  • Add 0.125" bleed on all sides

  • Use 300 DPI resolution for high-quality printing

  • Set your file to CMYK color mode (not RGB)

Important: For perfect bound books, your inside pages must be saved as individual single-page files (not spreads). Each page should be named clearly, such as page1.pdf, page2.pdf, page3.pdf, etc.

The cover, however, should be supplied as a full spread that includes the back cover, spine, and front cover in one file. This ensures proper alignment during binding.

If you're unsure, just send what you have and our Prepress Team will take a look and help you fix it if needed.
